Yuhan Liu
Yuhan (Anna) Liu is a sophomore at Clayton High School and is participating in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for her second season. Liu began playing the violin at the age of eight and recently switched to the viola last year after realizing that it offers a deeper and richer sound, showcasing the beauty she admired in the violin. Liu started her viola journey under the guidance of Chris Tantillo and is currently studying with Joanna Mendoza.
Liu is actively involved in her school’s musical organizations. She also played in the Community Music School of Webster University’s Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra when they performed at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2024. Outside of music, she participates in Scouting America with Troop 21G.
In her free time, Liu enjoys playing tennis and reading. Liu would like to express her gratitude to all her mentors, teachers, and supporters who have guided her on her musical journey, including Alexey Shabalin, Angie Smart, Carolyn Day, Daniel Henderson, Chris Tantillo, Joanna Mendoza, and of course, her family.
