Yiding Ye

Ladue Horton Watkins High School

Yiding (Adam) Ye is a 16-year-old junior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. He has been playing the violin for 6 years and this is his first season as a part of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Before the SLSYO, Adam was a member of the Webster University Community Music School’s Young People’s Concert and Symphonic Orchestras. He has also participated in the St. Louis middle and high school All-Suburban Orchestras, as well as the Missouri All-State Orchestra.

Adam fell in love with the violin when he heard the SLSO after moving to St. Louis from Shenzhen, China at the age of 10. When he later discovered the SLSYO, he knew he wanted to be a part of this amazing group. Adam has had the privilege of studying with SLSO violinist Xiaoxiao Qiang and is extremely thankful for her guidance and encouragement. At school, Adam is the center violin of the Ladue Strolling Strings and a member of the Ladue Speech and Debate Team. In his free time, Adam enjoys watching TV shows and spending time with his family, friends, and dog.

Adam would like to thank his past and current music educators, including teachers and conductors from CMS and Ladue. He is also incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of his parents, family, and peers throughout his musical journey.
