Felix Zhang

Felix Zhang is a seventeen-year-old senior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. This will be his second season in the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. He has been playing clarinet for seven years and has studied with Paul Varley and Kelly Austermann. Zhang cherished his time playing as the principal clarinetist of the Community Music School of Webster University’s Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra where they performed at Carnegie Hall in 2025. He also thoroughly treasured his time playing in the 2023 Missouri All State Band as well as the 2024 and 2025 Missouri All State Orchestra. 

Beyond music, Zhang enjoys speech and debate, working out, and playing badminton and chess. He also loves hanging out with friends and eating delectable food. Zhang would like to thank his band director, Aaron Lehde. He’s eternally grateful to his parents, sister, and friends for their unwavering support in his musical endeavors.
