Peyton Jones

Peyton Jones is 17 years old, and this will be her second season as part of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She is currently a senior at Fort Zumwalt South High School and performs in their marching band and Wind Ensemble. Jones has been playing the clarinet for nearly 5 years now, starting back in the 6th grade. In addition to clarinet, she also plays guitar and bass clarinet.  

Jones has been a part of many performing ensembles since she began playing, including the Missouri All-State Band, the American School Band Directors Association’s National Honor Band, the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra at the Webster University Community Music School, the Missouri Metro 8 district honor band, the Saint Charles County Youth Orchestra, the Saint Louis Youth Wind Symphony, and plenty more. She has also performed at the Missouri State Solo and Small Ensemble Festival for the past three years, receiving a gold rating on her solo performance each time.  

Jones would like to thank her clarinet teacher Linda Phipps for helping to push her to her goals, Dr. Ron Stillwell for his unwavering support and for gifting her the clarinet she performs on, and the friends she has met through music for inspiring her through their dedication.
