Zaide Rosso

Zaide Rosso is a senior at Mehlville High School and has been playing the clarinet since the 6th grade. This will be his second year with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra as a full-time clarinetist. He was born in Michigan and raised in St. Louis. In his free time, he likes to listen to all sorts of music, sometimes making his own. Music has been an integral and grounding part of his life and he plans to study it to the highest extent.  

Rosso’s favorite musical experience thus far has been playing with the internationally prestigious Meridian Clarinet Quartet during their clarinet choir festival in fall of 2024. He has composed music for and played in his school theatre pit band as a reed player. He has also participated in Missouri All Regional and State Band during 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade.  

Rosso would like to thank his mother for always supporting his passions, and he would like to thank Jimmy Hahn and the Browns who were and are his inspiring band directors, and Mary Nan Jordan who is his clarinet tutor, for pushing him out of his comfort zone.
