Forest Gong

Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School

Forest Gong is a senior at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School. He has been playing the clarinet for four years, and this season will be his second with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Gong has participated in various musical ensembles, including the Missouri All-State Band, the St. Louis Metro 8 All District Band, and the Webster University Community Music School’s Young People’s Concert Orchestra. He has also participated in the Missouri State High School Activities Association’s Solo and Ensemble Competition.

Outside of music, Gong runs varsity cross country and track, volunteers at the local Chinese school, and teaches children how to solve Rubik’s Cubes. Gong also plays the cello.

Gong would like to thank all of his past and current music educators for everything they have done in helping him improve his skills and appreciate the world of music. Gong would also like to thank his family and friends for their constant love and support.
