Giulia Vitolo

Giulia Vitolo is a second-year student at Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in physics and design. Vitolo’s flute journey began at age 10, when she began lessons with her longtime flute teacher, Dr. Elzbieta Brandys-O’Neill.  

During high school, Vitolo attended summer programs at the Brevard Music Center, Interlochen Arts Camp, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute, where she participated in the flute workshops and the Young Artists Wind Ensemble. These summer programs were among her most memorable musical experiences, which strengthened her love for orchestral music and collaborative performance. She also performed with the New England Conservatory’s Senior Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble and was consistently selected for the Massachusetts Music Educators Association District and All-State festivals. Recently, Vitolo was awarded second place at the 2026 Flute Society of St. Louis Young Artist Competition. She is thrilled to continue her love of ensemble playing as a second-year member of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.  

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, crafting, exercising, and spending quality time with friends and family. She is deeply grateful to Professor Jennifer Gartley and Dr. Elzbieta Brandys-O’Neill for nurturing her passion and helping her grow both artistically and personally.
