Joy Shin

Joy Shin is a sophomore at Parkway West High School, and this is her second year playing in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.  

She has been playing viola for 6 years and has participated in many music programs such as the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra at Webster University’s Community Music School, her school’s Symphonic Orchestra, Credo St. Louis, and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Peer to Peer program. She has also participated in the Missouri All-State Orchestra, serving as assistant principal her freshman year.  

Besides viola, Joy loves playing the piano and learning different instruments such as the guitar and ukulele. She also enjoys being active and is part of her school’s cross country, swim, and track teams. She would like to thank her family, friends, and her teacher, Rebecca Pantano, for the wonderful support.
