Alexander Roesler

Fort Zumwalt South High School

Alex Roesler is a senior at Fort Zumwalt South High and is passionate about music. Participating in both vocal and cello work, Alex was a part of Allstate their sophomore and junior year for orchestra and choir, respectively. For cello, Alex is currently a part of the Community Music School of Webster University, taking cello lessons from Cathie Lehr Ramos. This is Alex’s first year in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, but he was previously a member of St. Charles County Youth Orchestra. Alex was the assistant principal for two years and this past year was the co-principal with a fantastic cellist. Vocally, Alex was a part of the Artists in Training of Opera Theatre Saint Louis with wonderful singers their junior year and won the Meritz award for the program’s spring adjudication. The previous year at Allstate, Alex also was featured in a quartet as the tenor.

Above all, Alex hopes to maintain a community with music, and while he hopes to major in vocal performance, cello will always hold a dear place in their heart. He hopes that he will be able to continue to play the instrument that has made them wonderful friends with the wonderful musicians in their life. Alex appreciates all the support he has been given from his parents and his sister, alongside the support of his private teachers, his school orchestra director Cynthia Clickner, his choir directors Jason Martin and Megan England, and above all his friends, which are the main reasons he auditioned for SLSYO in the first place.
