Youth Orchestra
Elsa Heaton
Elsa Heaton, 14, is a rising freshman who has been playing the violin for more than 10 years. This year will be her third season in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She currently studies with her wonderful teacher Hannah Ji.
Over the years, she has participated in many programs at the Community Music School of Webster University, most recently playing chamber music in the Preparatory Program. In 2024, she won Honorable Mention – Junior Strings of the Missouri MTNA Competition. This summer, she attended Center Stage Strings and studied with Danielle Belen and Fabiola Kim.
In addition to violin, she plays piano and studies with the delightful and talented Vera Parkin. Aside from music, Elsa enjoys reading, drawing, working out, and spending time with her older sister.
She is grateful for all her music teachers, both past and present. She would especially like to thank Angie Smart for her excellent teaching and mentorship. It was a privilege to study with her for several years. Elsa is also blessed to have parents and grandparents who support and encourage her music education. Above all, she gives thanks to God, and seeks to glorify Him in all her endeavors.
