Y. Elizabeth Hung

Ladue Horton Watkins High School

Elizabeth Hung is a junior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. She began playing violin at the age of four and is entering her third season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. In addition to performing with her school orchestra, Hung has participated in multiple ensembles at the Webster Community Music School, including the Preparatory Program. Since 2021, she has also been a member of the Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis’s “Share the Stand” program. For the past two years, she has played in the Missouri All-State Orchestra. During the summer, she has participated in programs including CMS, Point CounterPoint, Credo, and the Arianna Chamber Music Festival.

Outside of violin, Hung enjoys drawing, watching K-dramas, and spending time with friends. She is also learning the erhu and performs with the St. Louis Traditional Chinese Music Ensemble. Hung would like to thank her past and current teachers, Nora Teipen and Joe Kaminsky, as well as her orchestra director, Sarah Heuermann, for their guidance and encouragement. She is especially grateful to her family for their unwavering support throughout her musical journey.
