Youth Orchestra

Y. Elizabeth Hung

Ladue Horton Watkins High School

Elizabeth Hung is a sophomore at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. She began violin at the age of four and is excited for her second season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

In addition to playing in her school’s orchestra, Elizabeth has participated in multiple orchestras at the Community Music School of Webster University for the past seven years, including the Preparory Program. She has been a member of the Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis “Share the Stand” program since 2021. She also played in various chamber groups in the summer with CMS since 2018 and Point CounterPoint. This year she attended the Credo National Festival in Chicago.

Outside of violin, she enjoys drawing, watching kdramas, hanging out with friends, and playing ice hockey. She is also learning erhu and plays with the St. Louis Traditional Chinese Music Ensemble.

Elizabeth would like to thank her past and current teachers Ms. Nora Teipen and Mr. Joe Kaminsky, and her orchestra music directors Ms. Twinda Murry, Ms. Sarah Heuermann, and Mr. Patrick Jackson, for their instructions and encouragement. She would also like to thank her family for their support throughout her musical journey.
