Youth Orchestra

Anna Ko

Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School

Anna Ko is a 15-year-old in 10th grade at MICDS, excited for her first year of participating in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra as a full-time member after the previous year as an alternate.

Ko’s interest in music first began in 3rd grade, picking up the violin at first before switching to viola under teacher Eliana Haig. Currently, she is studying viola with Joanna Mendoza. Throughout her 7 years of playing viola, Ko has participated in the Young People’s Concert Orchestra of Webster University’s Community Music School as principal of the viola section.

She thanks and is grateful for her teacher Joanna Mendoza for the guidance she has given throughout the years, as well as Eliana Haig for supporting her in the early years of her musical journey.
