Youth Orchestra

Kyler Wang

Parkway West High School

Kyler Wang is 16 years old and a junior at Parkway West High School. He has been playing the violin for 7 years, and this is his second season in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Wang started playing the violin under the instruction of Nicole Kovaluk and now studies with Xiaoxiao Qiang. Before joining the YO, Wang played in the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra at Webster University, the St. Charles County Youth Orchestra, and his school’s Symphonic Orchestra. He was also a part of the Missouri All-State Orchestra.

Outside of playing the violin, Wang enjoys playing tennis on his school’s tennis team, competing in math competitions, and eating out with his friends. He would like to thank his teachers as well as his school orchestra director, Ed Sandheinrich, for their instruction and support in becoming a better musician. Additionally, Wang would like to thank his parents for their encouragement along his journey.
