Youth Orchestra

Reid Huntley

Eureka High School

Reid Huntley is sixteen years old and a rising junior at Eureka High School. This is his first season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

He began his viola studies under the tutelage of Dr. Nicole Cramer at age nine and has continued with Professor Joanna Mendoza. Throughout his musical journey, Reid has had the privilege of participating in the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra at the Community Music School of Webster University, Missouri All-State Orchestra, and CMS’s Preparatory Program. Additionally, he has participated in summer festivals such as the Oberlin Viola Workshop, where he studied under Peter Slowik, the Arianna Chamber Music Festival, and Madeline Island Chamber Music for Strings.

Reid would especially like to thank his current teacher, Professor Joanna Mendoza, for her endless support and inspiration. He would also like to express gratitude towards Dr. Nicole Cramer, Mary White, the Arianna String Quartet, and his friends and family. Besides practicing the viola, Reid is also passionate about ornithology and botany.
