Julia Melton

Nipher Middle School

Julia Melton is an eighth grader at Nipher Middle School in Kirkwood. This is her first year playing in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

She has been playing viola for 8 years and has served as principal violist of the St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Orchestra and assistant principal violist of the Community Music School of Webster University’s Young People’s Concert Orchestra. She has also participated in several summer orchestra and chamber music programs, including Credo St. Louis. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, writing, and listening to music. She also works on the lights crew for her school plays and musicals.

She would like to thank her current teacher, Anna Lackschewitz, for her unwavering support and inspiration. She would also like to thank Eliana Haig, Fariga Drayton-Conway, Monet Royal, Sarah Dane, and her family and friends.
