Youth Orchestra
Henna Lee
Henna Lee is a 16-year-old junior at Parkway Central High School. She is excited for her first season as an alternate with the Saint Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Lee was first introduced to the violin in fourth grade through her elementary school’s strings program. Lee began to study violin privately in eighth grade with Dr. Jessica Platt, her current teacher. Lee has participated in her school’s orchestra program throughout middle and high school and is currently in her high school’s Symphonic Orchestra. She was also a part of the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra (YPSO) last year.
Aside from violin, Lee has played the piano since she was 4 and currently studies with Mrs. Yulia Rife. She also enjoys traveling, volunteering with her church’s music and children’s service, participating in speech and debate, and learning French.
Lee is incredibly thankful for all the people that have supported her musical journey over the years: Vera Parkin, current private teachers Jessica Platt and Yulia Rife, orchestra directors Alicia Bont, Clay McKinney, and Patrick Jackson, past teachers Sharla Bender and Joanne Kwan, and of course, her wonderful family and friends
