Lucas Ruan
Lucas Ruan is a sophomore at Clayton High School. He is quite excited to join YO as a violinist for his first season! Ruan participated in Missouri’s All-State program last year and Webster University’s Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra (YPSO) for two years. He is also currently in his school’s Symphonic Orchestra and a member of Tri-M Music Honor Society.Â
Ruan started piano at the age of 4 and started learning violin in 4th grade from the school program. He began learning from Joo Kim in 6th grade and is very appreciative of her guidance and encouragement. Â
He is also very thankful for his long-time piano teacher Zena Ilyashov, high school conductor Daniel Henderson, and YPSO conductor Patrick Jackson. Besides violin, Ruan loves doing math, playing piano, and playing video games.Â
