Clayton High School

Sadie Mei Ulrich is a 16-year-old musician and rising junior at Clayton High School in St. Louis, Missouri. This will be her first year with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Ulrich began playing the viola in 8th grade, captivated by its deep and beautiful sound and has since developed a deep love for the instrument. Along with her musical endeavors, she is also an accomplished rower, having competed at the national level, and enjoys swimming and watching movies in her spare time.

Though this is her first year with the YO, Ulrich’s dedication to her instrument is evident. She credits much of her growth to her parents, her viola teacher, Chris Tantillo, and her orchestra director, Mr. Henderson. Sadie is excited to bring her passion and commitment to the orchestra, eager to perform alongside her talented peers and continue growing as a musician.

A native of St. Louis, Ulrich finds inspiration in her hometown’s vibrant arts scene. She looks forward to further developing her musical journey with the YO and sharing her love for the viola with others.
